Liberty Bell is a family-run business that now sells goods and fabrics online. However, we have a purpose-built studio in Whitegate, Cheshire, where we continue to hold workshops year-round. We also run mail-order block-of-the-month programmes and continue to attend quilt shows around the country. Keep an eye on our website for new course lists, programmes and events!

Our first shop opened in Blakemere Craft Centre, Cheshire in 1994. In September 2004, to celebrate our tenth year in business, we moved from Blakemere to our city-centre store in the heart of medieval Chester. After 13 successful years in the city, we decided to move our business online and operate our workshops from a new teaching studio, as well as attending quilt shows around the UK.

We travel to America regularly to source unusual quilting fabrics and new products direct from crafters, many of whom do not supply other UK retailers. As such, among our pages you will find unique and unusual treasures to delight and inspire all tastes and age groups.

Our successful workshop programme offers courses in quilting (from beginner through to advanced), lessons in rag doll and figure making, tutorials on how to make unusual bags, and much else besides, ranging from one-day to two- or three-day sessions. We also run a patchwork block-of-the-month programme, and an annual mail-order Wool Camp. Courses take place in our purpose-built studio in Whitegate, Cheshire, with sewing machines provided.
